About Trashion A la Mode  

 

Trashion a la mode is an annual event held in celebration of World Environment Day. This year 2022 will mark its 5th year. This event brings together environmentalist, fashion enthusiast, graphic designers, visual artists and upcyclers and challenges them to change the environmental landscape of Nigeria through fashion and arts.  

 

Trashion a la mode focuses on four cardinal areas (1) Creating awareness about waste using fashion as a vehicle (2) showcasing sustainable eco-friendly alternatives (3) showcasing empowerment opportunities that can be found in waste materials and (4) giving back to our community by donating proceeds from our ticket sales to promoting environmental and humanitarian causes. All proceed from our ticket sales go into social projects. 

 

This year, proceeds from our ticket sales will go into renovation of classroom blocks at LEA Jahi/Kado Kuchi behind Next Cash and Carry and LEA Nomadic Primary School Baran Goni Bwari Area Council as well as creating playgrounds made from upcyled material.
